How to get there

Below please find a general map of Berlin. The department of Mathematics and Computer Science is located at 'Dahlem' district. In order to obtain a description how to approach the surroundings of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Free University, click the corresponding symbols. Lectures will be held at the building of Computer Science (see big red dot).

Furthermore, you will find hints to selected restaurants in the neighborhood.

Motorway - from direction Hamburg/Rostock

  • Drive in direction Wilmersdorf entering the A 100.
  • Drive in direction Steglitz entering the A 104.
  • Take exit Breitenbachplatz.
  • Turn right at the second traffic light at Breitenbachplatz.
  • Drive along the roads Englerallee - Altensteinstraße following the signpost to the Freie Universität

Motorway - from direction Hannover/Leipzig

  • Take exit Wannsee in direction Zehlendorf.
  • Drive along the roads Potsdamer Chaussee - Potsdamer Straße - Berliner Straße - Unter den Eichen.
  • Turn left to Habelschwerdter Allee (signpost to Freie Universität) and immediately turn right to Altensteinstraße.

  • Take the inner-city railway S 5, S 7 or S 75 in direction Strausberg Nord, Ahrensfelde or Wartenberg station to Warschauer Str. station.
  • At Warschauer Str. station take subway U1 in direction Krumme Lanke and get off at Dahlem-Dorf station.
  • Timetables for public transport in Berlin and Brandenburg Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) .

  • Take inner-city railway S 45 in direction Westend station to Heidelberger Platz station.

Ostbahnhof Station

The former central station of East-Berlin.

  • Take inner-city railway S 3, S 5, S 7 or S 75 in direction Erkner, Strausberg Nord, Ahrensfelde or Wartenberg station to Warschauer Str. station.
  • At Warschauer Str. station take subway U1 in direction Krumme Lanke station to Dahlem-Dorf station .
 
 

Tegel Airport

  • Take Bus X9 or 109 (stops directly at the main airport building) in direction Zoologischer Garten station to Jakob-Kaiser-Platz.
  • At Jakob-Kaiser-Platz take subway U7 in direction Rudow station to Fehrbelliner Platz station.
  • At Fehrbelliner Platz station take subway U1 in direction Krumme Lanke station to Dahlem-Dorf station.
  • Timetables for public transport in Berlin and Brandenburg Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) .

Tempelhof Airport

  • Take Bus 119 in direction Hagenplatz (Berlin) station to Nollendorfplatz station.

  • Take Bus 171(it stops right in front of the exit), direction subway Rudow and get off at the bus stop Flughafen Berlin-Schönefeld.
  • Take inner-city railway S 45 in direction Westend and get off at Heidelberger Platz station.
  • At Heidelberger Platz switch to the subway U1 in direction Krumme Lanke and get off at Dahlem-Dorf station.
